Academic Search Elite
This is a regularly updated database with thousands of journals in all disciplines. A lot of articles are available as full-text.

Arts & Humanities Citation Index - Web of Science (A&HCI)
This index provides bibliographic reference to articles from a large selection of important arts and humanities journals. Articles are linked together by key words. It is possible to search for cited references, in other words to see how many times and by which authors a certain article has been cited.

Wiley Online Library
This is an online collection of full-text articles from over 1500 journals and 9000 books in all disciplines. History section is part of the humanities sub-database.

Cambridge Journals
Full-text articles from over 220 journals in all subjects, History included.

Central and Eastern European Online Library
An online archive which provides access to full text PDF articles from 314 humanities and social science journals and re-digitized documents pertaining to Central, Eastern and South-Eastern European topics.

JSTOR
It provides access to journals in different subjects, mainly related to the humanities and social sciences. The electronic version of a journal usually dates back to the first issue. The latest editions of the journals are, however, not available – they usually come online after three to five years. This so-called “moving wall” system is different for each journal.

Oxford University Press
A full-text access to journals in the humanities, social sciences and many other fields.

Periodicals Archive Online
The successor to PCI Full Text. It provides a full-text access to hundreds of journals in the humanities and social sciences.

Periodicals Index Online
The successor to PCI (Periodicals Contents Index). It contains references to millions of articles in the humanities and social sciences. Citations from the index are linked directly to their full-text versions either in JSTOR or in the Periodicals Archive Online.

Project Muse
A full-text access to over 380 humanities and social sciences e-journals, published by a range of American university presses.

Social Sciences Citation Index - Web of Science (SSCI)
An index to over 1,950 journals in social sciences dating back to 1956. Approximately half of all the articles are available as full-text.

Taylor & Francis
The State Library provides access to all online journals by the publisher ‘Taylor & Francis’. Here is a list of titles in Arts and Humanities

ULRICH’s Periodicals directory
This website provides information on more than 300,000 regularly and irregularly published periodicals. It also contains over 47,000 out-of-print titles (since 1974). There is contact information for over 90,000 publishers in 200 countries.

Worldwide Political Science Abstracts
Indexing of ca. 1,500 journals, with ca. 450,000 records (as of beg. 2005)

Infomedia
The biggest online information system in Denmark – it contains over six million articles from Danish newspapers, professional journals, and news agencies, including reviews. It offers a critical analysis of media on a daily basis.

List of e-journals with free access

Electronic Journals Library
An international list of full-text journals in all fields including history, compiled by the University Library of Regensburg and the Library of the Technical University of Munich. You can locate an article by searching for key words, but you can also browse the journals by subject or by title. Next to each journal title there is a symbol saying whether the journal is freely available or only available with limited access.

Historie-nu
An independent Danish net-magazine. It is addressed to everybody who is interested in history and who would like to understand Denmark’s position in the context of world politics, culture and history.

Zeitschriftenfreihandmagazin
This database was originally envisioned as an index of historical journals published in the German language, but it has since expanded to include a large number of English-language journals as well. It contains journals’ tables of contents, which you search by different criteria, and thus locate the article you need.

This Danish journal database contains references to major articles in newspapers and journals since 1945, as well as reviews since 1990. The database is regularly updated. Please note: these are only references, not full-texts. The articles that you need, you can order at the State Library via their Electronic journals – Title search.
